We are a married couple currently living in West Palm Beach, FL getting ready to become Peace Corps Volunteers in Eastern Europe. Currently, we are both nominated for Asia to teach English (TEFL/TESL) in June, 2011.
About David
I am 23, was born in Roanoke, Virginia and I lived in Virginia and Georgia most of my life. I attended the University of Georgia and received my degree in Speech Communication in 2008. After graduation, I spent a year working as a substitute teacher in Virginia and moved to Florida after getting married to Nicole. For the first year of our marriage, I worked at a church in West Palm Beach, FL and loved living on the beach and enjoying the south Florida winter. I enjoy hanging out with my wife, reading, music, golf, tennis, traveling, going to the beach & hanging out with friends. I also love food – whether that’s cooking, going out to restaurants, watching cooking shows, or simply talking about food. And although I’m not really good at either, I’m also into sports and photography. My mom, dad, and brother Brent (18) live in Roanoke, VA.
About Nicole
I am 24 and was born in Illinois, but spent most of my childhood in Auburn, Alabama and moved to the Athens, Georgia area in high school. I attended the University of Georgia and graduated in 2008 with a degree in Speech Communication. After graduation, I moved to Orlando to work with travel agents in Disney's Travel Industry Marketing department and am currently doing marketing communications for an Orlando-based real estate company.I enjoy hanging out with David, cooking, reading, taking pictures, cooking/eating, exploring new cities, exercising (running, roller blading, etc.), watching movies, and spending time with our friends! My mom, dad, and brother, Adam (21), live in Athens.
About Us
David and I met in college through the University of Georgia's Campus Crusade for Christ (Crossroads). We were both going to Orlando for Summer Projects in 2006 and vowed to get together while in Florida. We had our first date in the Magic Kingdom and were inseparable by the end of the summer.We continued to date throughout college and were engaged in March of 2008. After graduating that semester, David moved home to Virginia and I moved to Orlando so we spent the next 13 months planning a long-distance wedding. We were married in April of 2009 in Athens, GA, moved to Orlando for a few months and have spent the past year living in West Palm Beach.
We began the Peace Corps application process in February of 2010 and are excited to get started!
